Weather, huh! Had some tornado/severe storm damage, and as without power for a few days, meant to post something about that, but that was last week. Wrote a post about some groovy dreams I had (One with a live action version TJ and Amal teaching you how to make a Han Solo out of sculpy, which I don't believe I have to tell you makes no sense because Amal is obviously more of a Trek guy)
Our backyard continues to kill things at an alarming rate. We lost all of our years old fish in a few days, and the new fish that were supposed to replace them. I really liked those old fish. They were regular goldfish that liked to pretend they were koi, they were really huge! And one was all white but for a few patches of orange on its head, lip and tail. It looked like it was wearing a hat, moustache and ankle bracelet. So cute.

Good news is I've pretty much learned how to ignore the poison ivy. I think I'm all better now, but I burn my hands on a breadpan today so I continue to be a self destructive idiot. I have some admittedly shaky drawings to post, but not right now. And why not, you probably aren't asking yourself right now (but I will blithely assume that you are). Well, I'll tell you why. It is because

A long time ago, in the same galaxy as usual, I put together a post of
pretty much everything I'd put online for that year in one place. I planned to do a post like that every year, for convince so that people who want to browse the only thing in my journal worth seeing easily (and so I can be a lazy ass and not do a proper website). The year was... 2006-7.
So here we are in 2009.

This isn't everything, I'll be leaving out small pencil sketches, memes and the more obscure joke drawings, for the most part. Except for the stupid Dissidia drawings, which I am disproportionately fond of. Tegaki pieces excepting for a select few, are left out because they're easy to find/browse anyway. There were some that I wanted to post, but couldn't find, so there's that, too. Other than that, brace the hell out ya internet connection, because I believe it is time to round a bitch up.

So you may have noticed I have failed to deliver on every vague promise I have ever made not posted any of the drawings I said I would post! There is a reason. This reason begins thousands of years ago, in the age of myths and legends.

No it doesn't, it begins a hour or so after I made my last post when my mom came home from work and decided to deliver a sound ass-whooping to all weeds in the the backyard. Including cutting several of the more attractive ones to give to a lady for her wedding. Yes, how nice how sweet she is a saint among women (true) etc.
Now, let me tell you guys a little about my weeding habits.
I hate gardening gloves. They give me hand claustrophobia. I'm not sure if that's an actual real thing, but it's real enough for me. I will not wear gloves for anything, unless they are very thin, or fingerless, or make me feel bad ass. Gardening gloves fit none of these parameters, they are thick, have fingers and impart an extra touch of dorky nerdity that I really don't need. I have dug trenches to Cambodia using decades-old splintery rakes without gloves. I have welded great weapons of fire and brimstone without aid of snake or cow skin sheathes, and have never felt any inkling of pain.

Next let me tell you a little about poison ivy

P.s. also I have a minor poison ivy rash on my hands it has now taken three days to type this out because it ITCHES LIKE A BAD MOTHER and that makes things difficult
I think I have a theory as to why there are dead things in our yard a lot these days

Today started off great at 6 am cleaning up vomit and dog shit for an hour or so! Then I had to mow the lawn and found out that the damn dog's head is STILL THERE but several feet to the right and it has gotten even grosser over time if that is at all possible. Also there was an air conditioner repairman that came over my house, except nobody bothered telling me he was coming and since there have been >6 major, major burglaries that specifically target rural homes in my area I started freaking out when a van pulled up to our isolated house. WHAT A WACKY SERIES OF MISUNDERSTANDINGS THAT SPURRED

but none of that matters now for it is DRAWING TIME

It's pretty boring having a week off of work while everyone else gets to go to England to be smart and do Doctory professory stuff. I might not be a doctor but I can, er, research? Research like a fool, I can!

One thing I don't get about myself is my severe internet comment anxiety. Like, I sort of know some people on the internet who are very good at things! They like the same things as I like! They are also very nice! They make nice things! I wish to tell them this! There is no reason to be nervous at all! BUT I GET SO ANXIOUS AND I'M ALL LIKE MY OPINIONS ARE DESTRUCTIVE TO ALL WHO HEAR AND MY APPROVAL HAS RUINED LIVES (neither of these things is true... so far) so then I don't. I especially have this problem with writers, because I don't know enough about writing to say anything constructive and not incoherently flail-y in the first place?
That's kind of why I like the +fav and notification system at DA. You can compliment people without having to nervously stare at the monitor in a blank panic about THE PERFECT COMPLIMENT ARGHGHGHG
Man, I even get that way in responding to comments on my own stuff from people I really admire. I think I come off as an ungrateful jerk a lot because of that, but I'm really just unjustifiably intimidated.
This condition doesn't actually exist for me in real life. I am okay with telling strangers that I think a thing they did is real nice. It does not effect me at all. I get a little awkward with receiving compliments, but that's just because much of the time I really don't know how to respond without sounding arrogant or dismissive. THEN WHY IS IT SO DIFFERENT ON THE INTERNET WHEN ANONYMITY AND DISTANCE ENSURES THAT YOU REALLY CAN'T MAKE A TOTAL ASS OF YOURSELF AS IN REAL LIFE? Here we have a mystery for sure!

After asking to be properly hired for a year, I am now being paid for my job. Poorly, but chump change is better than no change! To celebrate this momentous occasion I think that a unnecessary purchase is in order! Today's secret word is Fable! Just ordered the Rubaiyat (1952 edition illustrated by Dulac) and an Bilibin illustrated collection of Russian fairytales, along with Fable 2. NOTABLE EXCEPTION: Fables is a terrible, terrible comic and I will not make the mistake of ever buying it again no matter how gorgeous the James Jean cover is.

This is kind of a weird post for me, I usually leave the video game talk to my friends but this was a rare opportunity that I couldn't pass up! That and I have no pictures to show because Photoshop appears to be permanently borked and won't even boot.

SO BIG NEWS EVERYONE!
I managed to find a torrent of the leaked pitch for the ill fated HBO Silent Hill mini-series/possible full series that was the talk of the internet a year back or so. Some of these plots sound pretty interesting, but I don't know if even HBO would have been able to handle some of the heavier plots.
I haven't heard a lot about it on gaming websites, I guess E3 completely overshadowed the leak. But I know I have at least one game journalist on my F-List, so I'm extra puzzled as to why nobody's caught the scent yet!

I had a dream about a conga line of murder victims with a serial killer at the end except it was way more creepy than what I'm making it sound, everyone was dressed in odd funerary shrouds and masks that were somehow deeply disturbing
The murders had something to do with touching and mind control and stealing wallets and this sassy teenager who worked at a watch kiosk in a ped mall that's all I can gather
there was a detective cat
and a detective dog who was old and a Scotty I think, but his soul sometimes looked disturbingly like that bulldog from All Dogs Go To Heaven, so I think he was reincarnated or something stupid like that
and for some reason there was a girl moving into a dorm room it was really lavender
